Content Planning Manager / Nashville
Overview
Lewis seeks a Content Planning Manager to join our Channel Engagement Department. The Content Planning Manager ensures that the content we create and design is grounded in a strategy that supports our clients’ business objectives, meets a customer need, and represents current best practices in digital communication. Specifically, they can translate the business/brand strategy into an effective customer journey, identifying the most compelling messages and touchpoints to achieve our goals.
This person will work across all departments to develop, execute, and advise effective owned strategies for our clients, including social, long-form content, website content, and email. Reports to: Content Planning Supervisor and VP, Channel Engagement
Supervises: Content Planning Coordinator
Works closely with Channel Engagement, Business Intelligence, Account Service, and Creative
The Content Planning Manager enhances a brand’s strategy by:
Developing and executing audience and channel-specific content strategies to effectively reinforce key brand strategy goals.
Identifying what owned content should be created based on users and business needs.
Determining relevant goals and KPIs that support the broader business goals.
Managing and assisting the team during content audits to enhance content plans and the overall strategy, specifically analyzing existing online content to determine the purpose, relevant audience insights, and necessary optimizations.
Managing the creation, scheduling, and publishing of the editorial calendar across owned channels, including scheduling due dates and tracking content through the editorial process.
Thoroughly and strategically connecting the owned/earned content strategy with paid media efforts. This person will be in constant collaboration with members of the channel and business intelligence teams.
Staying current on new trends and platforms (owned - i.e., email and social media) while assisting in researching and educating internal teams on trending topics and helping guide content writers.
Ability to learn how to use community monitoring tools and administer social media listening and competitive content metrics from a strategic lens to analyze consumer perceptions and develop competitive advantages.
Requirements
5+ years of experience preferred
Basic technical knowledge of publishing and analytics w/in content management systems, CRM, and email platforms
Knowledge of SEO and web traffic metrics
Digital literacy skills required: strong understanding of social media platforms (TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Snapchat, Pinterest, Twitter.)
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Ability to present in Client facing meetings and presentations
Self-motivated to complete tasks on time
Short-form social copywriting as needed
Attention to detail and process-oriented
Organized, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize multiple projects
Ability to interface with multiple levels of management and departments (creative, strategy, channel engagement, and account management)
