Overview

As a Strategist at our Agency, your role will be focused on producing strategic insights that help lead our client’s brand and business strategy. You will play a crucial role in shaping the future direction of client organizations, driving growth, and ensuring long-term success. A successful candidate will be a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of business processes, a track record of delivering results, a passion for innovation, and an understanding of the critical role marketing/advertising plays in sustainable growth. Passion and curiosity are required, inspiring the team by providing clarity and completion to connected brand experiences.

  • Reports to: Vice President of Strategy and Research
  • Supervises: Strategy Coordinators, Strategy Specialists

Qualifications

The suggested qualifications for the position of Strategist are:

  • Education: A Bachelor's Degree is required, preferably in Advertising, Public Relations, or Marketing
  • Experience: 5-7+ years of relevant work experience, advertising/marketing agency experience preferred
  • Understanding of business and brand principles
  • Strength in financial/business analysis
  • Excellent written and verbal skills

Responsibilities

This job description will provide you with guidelines for understanding your responsibilities. These guidelines may change to meet the specific business needs of the Agency.

  • ​​Strategic Planning: Collaborate with senior leadership to develop, refine, and execute a client's strategic plans. Identify growth opportunities, analyze market trends, and provide valuable insights to shape the organization's future.
  • Market Analysis: Analyze comprehensive market research, competitive analysis, and industry benchmarking to identify potential areas for expansion and differentiation.
  • Business Performance Analysis: Assess the client's current performance and financial health, including risk assessments, and identify areas for improvement and optimization. Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and regularly monitor progress.
  • Audience Intelligence: Develop a deep understanding of the target audience(s) by conducting thorough research, including demographics, psychographics, online behavior, and emerging trends.
  • Creative Strategy: Use audience insights, paired with business analysis, to create compelling creative/messaging strategies with associated briefs that spark innovative creative ideation.
  • Business Modeling: Work with the data/analytics team to concept and refine business models to support strategic initiatives, such as revenue forecasting, cost analysis, and investment evaluation.
  • Innovation and New Initiatives: Propose and champion innovative ideas and new business initiatives. Drive cross-functional teams to execute these initiatives and track their success.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, partners, and industry associations, to support business development and collaboration.
  • Reporting and Communication: Prepare and present strategic plans, progress reports, and recommendations to senior management and other relevant stakeholders. Effectively communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely.
